Face Reality Quick Start Weeks One & Two

Welcome to Face Reality with Art of Skin Care! Please read and reread the Acne Lessons. These tips are crucial to achieving and maintaining clear skin. 

EXPECTATIONS 

While some clients see improvement within a few weeks of starting their acne protocol, achieving clear skin typically takes three to four months. Breakouts are normal and to be expected during this time. Acne often gets worse before it gets better during the purging phase. Our goal is to have breakouts slowing around the 90-day mark. It takes time for the skin to detoxify, balance, and heal.  

The skin will acclimate every two to three weeks until it clears. Reach out to your Acne Specialist or our LiveChat for help progressing. IMPORTANT TIPS

• Do not eat anything that contains biotin or iodine. Use non-iodized Salt.
• Do not use dryer sheets or fabric softeners of any kind.
• Do not eat peanuts, peanut butter, or soy products.
• Minimize dairy intake.

FACE REALITY MORNING ROUTINE 

Use the products in the exact order given. 

Cleanse: 

Face Reality Ultra Gentle Cleanser   

Cleanse using the AOS Dry Cleanse Method: Dispense one pump of cleanser onto dry hands. Rub hands together to create a foam. Gently rub onto dry skin—wet hands and massage to emulsify. Continue massaging for two minutes. Remove with a warm Lush Cloth.

Tone: 

Face Reality Moisture Balance Toner 
Apply using toner pads. These pads will help your toner last longer and will provide additional exfoliation.   

Corrective Serum:  

Face Reality Mandelic Serum 8%
 Apply one pump to dry skin. Allow the skin to fully dry after application. 

Moisturize:

Recommended for oily skin types

Face Reality Clearderma
Recommended for normal and combination skin types

Face Reality Cran-Peptide Cream
Recommended for dry or mature skin types

Protect:
This step is required. Your acne care products cause increased sun sensitivity.

Acne Safe Makeup: 

Illuminare Mattifying Mineral Foundation
Beginners like to mix this with a little sunscreen 

FACE REALITY EVENING ROUTINE 

First, remove makeup with Clean Skin Club Clean Wipes.

Cleanse: 

Ultra Gentle Cleanser    

Following cleanse, ice face with an Ice Globe or Ice Pop for two minutes on inflamed breakouts. Ice reduces inflammation and enhances the penetration of Acne Med.  

Tone: 

Moisture Balance Toner 

Hydrate: 

Hydrabalance Hydrating Gel
Allow the skin to fully dry after application. 

Antibacterial Support: 

Acne Med 2.5%
DO NOT SPOT TREAT. Use a dime to nickel-sized amount over the ENTIRE acne-prone area, avoiding the eye area.

IS DRYNESS AND BURNING NORMAL? 

1. If anything burns or stings your skin for over two minutes, please rinse it off and email me.   
2. Mild dryness is expected while your skin is clearing, but if you experience extreme dryness, cracking, and peeling, email me immediately! Your skin should not be uncomfortable or painful. 
3. As soon as there is an issue, please contact us with details on what you are experiencing, along with photos. We will help you resolve it without interfering with your clear skin plan. Please only stop your routine after contacting us.
